Frequently asked questions
None of our reservoirs require a concrete base, but reservoirs higher than 1.9m require a concrete apron that can be cast after the reservoir is installed.
Staalboer reservoir walls are made of Z275 hot dip galvanised steel sheets with a minimum thickness of 1mm. We also offer a ZincAL option. The steel sheets can also be replaced with stainless steel upon request.
The liquid is contained by a blue, black or grey polyester-net-reinforced PVC liner with seams made by a high frequency welding process to provide watertight joints. The liner material resists a wide range of chemicals and has an excellent resistance to UV radiation.
The reservoirs are supplied with a 50mm outlet as standard, but any size up to 300mm can be fitted upon request.
Staalboer supplies clients with a step-by-step instruction manual on how to prepare the area before the installation of the reservoir.
There must be water available to fill up the reservoir, at least to the outlet. This will ensure that the liner is positioned correctly inside the reservoir. If there is no water to cover the bottom of the liner, the wind can blow out the entire liner.
There must be someone to advise where the fittings need to be located.
We will need 3 – 4 labourers.

Staalboer products have a 10 year warranty against faulty material and/or workmanship, and the liner carries a 10 year pro-rata warranty against sun damage.
