Whether you need reliable bulk water storage for farming, mining, or a civil project, our reservoirs are built from galvanised an ZincAL® steel panels to withstand tough environmental conditions.
Available in a wide range of sizes, our reservoirs offer high-volume storage with quick installation and long-term durability.
We have installed reservoirs in countries such as Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Eswatini (Swaziland), and Uganda.
Engineering certificates are available upon request and are charged separately.
The structures are fully galvanised
and have a life expectancy in excess
of 20 years.
These cost-effective reservoirs are
easy to transport by a long wheelbase
bakkie, which makes it easy to ship
anywhere in the world.
Staalboer aims to give you peace of mind by providing a 10
year warranty on its products against faulty material and/or workmanship.
We will also provide you with a 10 year pro rata warranty against sun damage on the liner.
Our modular design allows for volumes from as little as 5000Lt up to 6000Kl.
Our reservoirs are made from the highest grade ZincAL® and Galvanised steel panels. All tubing and structural materials are fully hot-dip galvanised and locally sourced. All our materials are SANS and SABS approved.
CAPACITY RANGES FROM 5 000 litres to 6 000 000 litres.
All our reservoirs are coated in zinc for superior corrosion resistance. Ideal for areas with fluctuating climates and long-term exposure to water.
This robust, corrosion-resistant steel dome is engineered for long-term durability and structural strength.
Dome roofs are manufactured from galvanised sheeting as standard, with ZincAL® available on request.
It is available for reservoirs ranging from 2.3 metres to 22 metres in diameter, making it a popular option for installations where debris, wildlife, or rainfall contamination must be minimised.
Ideal for municipal water supply, livestock drinking reservoirs, or water storage near trees or dusty environments.
Our reservoirs can be fitted with:
40% shade net: A lightweight cover to reduce wind-blown debris like leaves and twigs.
95% shade net: A denser cover designed to reduce algae growth by limiting sunlight exposure.
Both net options help keep insects, birds, and environmental debris out of your water, extending the life of your liner and maintaining better water quality.
All Staalboer reservoirs are fitted with a durable reinforced PVC liner to ensure reliable, leak-proof performance.
Our liner materials range from 550g up to 1000g per square metre, depending on your application requirements. Potable, food-grade liners are available in 720g and 1000g options for safe drinking water storage.

Steel panel reservoirs are also known as steel water tanks or steel panel dams, ZincAL® dams or ZincAL® reservoirs.
The reservoirs can be used in a broad spectrum of industry sectors, including agriculture, aquaculture, mining, construction, general industry, fire tanks, domestic use, rainwater harvesting and swimming pools.
We offer specialised liners suitable for potable water and a wide range of chemicals and liquid fertilisers, depending on your specific application requirements.
Yes, our steel panel reservoirs and tank stands can be tailored to your required height, diameter, and capacity.
Steel tanks and stands require a stable, level base such as a concrete ring beam or slab, with foundation specifications varying according to tank size and soil conditions. An instruction manual is provided upon purchase, and reservoirs require at minimum a flat, level surface spread with fine sand to prevent damage to the liner. We provide engineered drawings so your contractor can prepare the correct foundation before installation.
Yes, the system integrates with most water sources. We can advise on the correct fittings, inlet filters, pressure management, and overflow setup depending on your preferred water source.
Lead time varies by tank size and location, but standard production is usually completed within a few weeks. Galvanised structures have an estimated waiting period of 2 to 4 weeks.
Installation on site generally takes one to five days depending on the unit size and project complexity, and will only commence once the site has been prepared by the client in accordance with the provided specifications.
Routine inspections of bolts, seals, liners, and inlet or outlet fittings are recommended annually. The galvanised steel structure requires minimal maintenance compared to plastic alternatives, and our preferred ZincAL® option offers even greater corrosion resistance and reduced maintenance over time.
Yes, replacement liners, bolts, panels, and accessories are available. Older tanks can often be refurbished, extended, or upgraded instead of fully replaced.
Staalboer reservoirs are made of Z275 Galvanised or ZincAL® steel panels. Stainless Steel panels reservoirs can be ordered on special request.
The liquid is contained by a blue, black or grey polyester-net-reinforced PVC liner. All seams are high-frequency welded to ensure durable, watertight joints. The liner material resists a wide range of chemicals and offers excellent UV resistance.
We can also lend our expertise to confirm whether the liner is suitable for applications beyond water, depending on your specific requirements.
The reservoirs are supplied with a 50mm outlet as standard, but sizes and additional fittings can be customised as per client requirements.
There must be water available to fill the reservoir, at least to the outlet level. This ensures the liner is positioned correctly inside the reservoir. If there is no water covering the bottom of the liner, wind can lift and displace it. Someone must be available on site to advise where the fittings should be located. We will require 3 to 4 labourers for installation.
If your reservoir requires a concrete coping or a no-fines coping, the materials are the responsibility of the buyer, unless otherwise specified. Ring foundations can be cast on special request at an additional cost.
Steel tanks and stands need a stable, level base such as a concrete ring beam or slab. Foundation specifications vary based on tank size and soil conditions. We provide engineered drawings so your contractor can prepare the correct foundation before installation.
Farmers rely on steel reservoirs for irrigation systems, livestock drinking water, fertigation, and rainwater harvesting. The durability and scale make them ideal for remote or rural operations.
Mines and factories require bulk water for processing, sanitation, cooling, and fire suppression. Steel tanks offer the capacity and reliability needed for these demanding environments.
Steel panel reservoirs are widely used in municipal water supply projects, rural development initiatives, clinics, schools, and emergency response infrastructure.
Steel reservoirs serve as key components in fire suppression systems for estates, industrial parks, and rural properties where municipal access may be limited.
Used on building sites and infrastructure projects for temporary or permanent water supply, concrete mixing, and dust control.
All our reservoirs are coated in zinc for superior corrosion resistance. Ideal for areas with fluctuating climates and long-term exposure to water.
